What each choice actually changes

Plain-language guidance, not sales copy. If a cheaper option is the right one for your job, we'll say so.

Folding carton vs. rigid box

A folding carton is what most retail products ship in — printed flat, creased, folded at packing. A rigid box is the stiff, lift-off-lid kind you get with a phone or a premium hamper: about 3× the cost, but it's the one that makes an unboxing feel expensive. Choose rigid only where the box is part of the gift.

Do you have a dieline?

A dieline is the flat cutting template your box is built from. If you have one, send it and we'll print to it exactly. If you don't — most clients don't — send us the product dimensions or just post us the product, and we'll draw the dieline free and show you a 3D mockup before cutting anything.

Corrugated for shipping

If the box has to survive a courier, plain 300gsm card won't do it. E-flute corrugated adds a fluted inner layer for crush resistance while still printing in full colour on the outside. It's the standard choice for e-commerce mailers going out via TCS or Leopards.

Questions we get about this product

Can you make boxes if I don't have a dieline?

Yes, and this is the norm. Send us the product dimensions — or drop the actual product at the shop — and we'll draw the dieline, cut a physical white sample so you can check the fit, then print the run. Drawing the dieline is free.

What's the MOQ for custom boxes?

250 pieces. Below that, the cost of cutting a die can't be spread thin enough to make sense. Once the die exists it's yours — reorders of the same box skip that cost entirely, which is why the second run is always cheaper than the first.

Can you print boxes with our brand colours exactly?

Yes. Give us the Pantone or CMYK values and we'll match them. For a brand colour that has to be exact — the kind of thing an FMCG client cares about — we run a physical proof for sign-off before the full run, and we photograph the first box off the line so you can stop us at unit one.

Do the boxes arrive flat or assembled?

Folding cartons ship flat and creased — you fold them at packing, which saves enormously on shipping volume. Rigid boxes arrive fully assembled. If you want us to assemble folding cartons too, we can, priced per unit.

Can you print inside the box as well?

Yes — inside printing is popular for unboxing moments. It's an extra pass on the press, so it adds to the per-unit cost, and we'll quote it separately so you can decide if it's worth it.
